1.
I hear a drop sliding on my window, It goes down slowly, no other sound, in these empty roads. No more screaming children, no more embraces, no more smiles, I want to touch your face. But it's not tomorrow yet, it's not tomorrow yet. No more days in colors, a time to understand. But it's not tomorrow yet, it's not tomorrow yet. Free as we used to be, you close to me again. Lyrics by Cecilia Miradoli
2.
Many still have to mourn their loved ones, and say goodbye. Many have to stopped yet, and they have no tears to cry. They are just afraid of falling. Many have to leave without, knowing where and how and when. Many are angry or unconscious, many are just alone. Molti sono soli. And many are simply floating, cause life is on pause. Lyrics by Cecilia Miradoli
3.
Today the sky weeps, I had a dream we were walking together, give me a morning where I can walk feeling the spring. Can you remind me every five minutes how wonderful life is? Isolation, separation, they won't get the better of us. Lyrics: Cecilia Miradoli
4.
Four in the morning, this tired city finally rests, I am awake to listen to the sound of my thoughts to the sound of the world, I am awake. The thicking of a clock, the song of a bird, a street washing machine down the road, the sigh of someone in the distance. We are so close, so far in this desert city without men. I am still awake.. I look at the wall of my room sleepless Four in the morning, this tired city finally rests I am awake to listen to the sound of my thoughts, to the sound of the world, I am awake. Scorre lento questo tempo, queste notti senza sognimentre, il mondo resta fuoriI, I'm awake. Lyrics by Cecilia Miradoli
5.
And there was a desire to go out, and there was a desire to escape, ride a bike, get on a train, board on a plane. And there was a desire, to say that the down is over, even if the down left us broken. And there was a desire to laugh, kiss, and there was a desire of spring and summer, sun, flowers and many starry nights. But, the evening falls with his distress and fear then, the night comes. Lyrics by Cecilia Miradoli

about

All proceeds from the online sales of the EP will be donated to the charities; Fondazione IRCCS Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico di Milano and Dundee Foodbank.

Via email, The Alien Cormorant & Cecilia Miradoli shared their experiences of living in lockdown in their respective home cities - Miradoli in Milan (the European COVID-19 epicentre) and The Alien Cormorant in Dundee, Scotland. Those discussions quickly became musical ideas that they swapped, worked on in isolation & then recorded in their own home studios - the result being ‘From My House To Your House’, the title inspired by graffiti spotted by Miradoli in Milan.

Miradoli says of the collaboration: “Space contracts while our minds expand, creating images and sounds and it’s even freer to invent than before. My darker side arises, speaking of solitude and melancholic despair, mixing in fear but not without a light of hope. Writing lyrics while you hear ambulances running outside, or to compose a melody while the only portion of blue sky you’re allowed to see is the one through the buildings outside of your window, describes the mood I was in while working on The Alien Cormorant’s music. Music that came to me from a different country, a different house… living the same dramatic historic moment”.

The Alien Cormorant adds: “Although these strange times have put restrictions on what we class as a normal way of life, there is also a lot more time to contemplate and be creative. This collaboration has sound-tracked my life for the last month and it has brought me much comfort and hope for the future. I hope the listener can experience this too”.

The Alien Cormorant is the moniker of Dundee born musician, producer and video maker Alan Cormack. He has composed soundtracks for numerous films and BAFTA nominated video games and recently worked with legendary producer Steve Albini. Alan is a member of Scottish indie pioneers Spare Snare.
